Ibri, Oman, two Omani women drowned in a water pool in Ibri, Al Dhahirah Governorate after going into a wadi (seasonal riverbed) which had flooded following a recent rain.
Incident Details
One of the women went into the water and could not stay afloat. The second woman attempted to save her but the two were overpowered by the water and drowned.
Rescue Efforts
Quickly emergency teams were sent to recover the bodies. The two women were both confirmed dead on the scene.
Safety Warning
Authorities remind the public to avoid entering wadis or water pools during rainfall or unstable weather, as sudden water rises and strong currents make them extremely dangerous.
