UAE Calls on Iran to Abide by the Ceasefire Agreement.
Recent conflict in the region has prompted the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to request Iran to abide by the ceasefire agreement in full. The ceasefire is vital, but it has to be adhered to accordingly to achieve real peace, UAE officials said.
This comes after a temporary ceasefire was announced between Iran and other countries. Nevertheless, the situation remains tense, and there are still certain worries about whether Iran will adhere to all the requirements.
UAE requests Compliance in its entirety.
The UAE government said that Iran must completely stop all attacks and follow the ceasefire without any conditions. Authorities emphasised that a ceasefire declaration is not sufficient, but it should be enforced.
The UAE also seeks definite answers to major concerns, in particular:
Stopping all military assaults in the area.
Opening key sea passages such as the Strait of Hormuz.
Safety in the transit of ships and trade.
Following international laws and agreements
Officials say that the last few weeks have witnessed numerous attacks with the use of missiles and drones, which damaged infrastructure and civilian areas. Owing to this, the UAE desires tough measure to ensure that such accidents do not occur in future.
The UAE also indicated that Iran is expected to take responsibility of the damage done and they should obey all international regulations.
Fears on Ceasefire Stability.
Even though a ceasefire has been announced, the situation is still very fragile. The UAE has clarified that peace would only be effective when Iran duly honors the agreement.
There are still several concerns:
Some attacks and tensions are continuing in the region
The major trade routes such as the Strait of Hormuz are not completely safe.
It is not clear how there will be long-term peace.
UAE commented that the temporary ceasefire is not sufficient. It seeks a permanent solution that would lead to stability and security in the region.
Authorities also included that the conflict is already inflicting severe harm within the last few weeks, such as attacks on power plants and civilian settlements. Owing to this, powerful measures are required to ensure that future escalation is averted.
Another factor that the UAE highlighted was that it was not involved in the war and has been trying to use diplomacy to diffuse tensions and prevent additional conflict.
