Officail Holiday Announcement
Oman government has announced the official holiday schedule for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr festivities. According to the announcement, the public holiday will run from Thursday, March 19 and Monday, March 23, which will provide the residents with a five-day break to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The holiday applies across the government institutions, the private companies, and educational institutions, allowinig people around the nation to observe the important Islamic festival.

According to the astronomical calculations, Eid Al-Fitr will be on the day of Friday, March 20, 2026. Nevertheless, the official day will be based on the observation of crescent moon which will commence Islamic month of Shawwal.
The official moon-sighting authorities in the country will determine the official confirmation of the Eid, just like all other Islamic holidays. Should the moon be seen before or after the day of reckoning, the precise beginning of the festival will be altered slightly.
